This new SF500 catalog is an expanded version of previous editions. It contains more sizes, including metric. An easy to use ordering system including various options and additional performance information.
Designed to provide maximum sealing for gas & liquids to 20,000 psi internal/external, all fasteners are UL Recognized and are offered in a variety of popular types, (machine screws, bolts, nuts, rivets and self-sealing oversize washers). Each of the fasteners feature a pre-assembled O-Ring embedded under the head in an asymmetrical groove. This proprietary design permits controlled compression and maximum reusability. For applications where vibration is also an issue, APM offers a full range of threadlocking add-ons (nylon pellets, strips and dry-patch coatings). Tamper-resistant drive styles are also available on special order.

TO HERMETICALLY SEAL OR NOT? |
Not every unsealed or sealed panel switch, potentiometer,
or circuit breaker needs environmental exposure
protection from adverse conditions on the ground,
in the air or on or under the water. But, for those controls
that must operate where dust, dirt, moisture, water,
lubricants, fungus, snow, ice and extreme temperatures
prevail, there is a definite need to protect (armor) them
from contaminant invasions that interfere with their ability
to perform reliably. There may also be RFI/EMI spurious
signals seepage that must be prevented from migrating
through the control mechanism enclosure and mounting
hole cut out.
It isn’t just contact-corrosion or fungus build-up that is
problematic. Actuator freedom must be maintained during
all operating conditions. Water or snow turning to ice,
and/or dust, dirt and other material build-up in a toggle’s
bushing cavity are just two conditions that can prevent
smooth toggle, pushbutton or rocker operation.
Individually or together, these negative factors can greatly
affect the life, performance and reliability of these unprotected
controls.

SWITCH SEALING BOOTS CAN BE A WEAPON AGAINST HARMFUL BACTERIA BUILDUP IN FOOD PROCESSING MACHINERY AND PROCESSING PLANTS.

FROM LED TUNNEL VISION TO GPS TO NIGHT GOGGLES
 In September, 2008, LED's Magazine reported that "Dellux Technologies, using OSRAM Golden Dragon® LED's to light a
major road tunnel in Germany, Thüringer Schmückeretunnel - the longest tunnel in Europe to be lit
with LED lighting." Dellux will be installing almost 800 luminair fixtures, each having nearly 100 LEDs
and 20 APM self sealing screws (SEELSKREWS®) to prevent dust and moisture seepage - protecting
internal circuitry. Stainless steel SEELSKREWS® will seal to 20,000psi and are used in such diverse
projects as specialized GPS devices and night vision goggles.
